Third, leave table quickly after meals. Smokers often end their meals by lighting cigarette. When you have given up smoking there isn't any easy way to tell meal has finished. There is tendency for eating to go on and on.

It is important, therefore, when you have had enough to eat, you get up and leave table. Don't just sit around, or you'll be tempted to reach for another portion of food.

At time of meal it is likely to be something exceptionally fattening - like large piece of pudding.

Fourth, be aware of boredom. Many people smoke when they are bored. Without cigarettes, there is risk periods of boredom will be filled with food.

Finally, eat only when you are hungry. Cigarettes ruin your sense of taste. Without cigarettes, you'll enjoy food more.

To counteract , you must learn to eat only when you are genuinely hungry - and to stop eating when you are no longer hungry.
