Hospital at home Part 1 (Teacher: Michael)

A lot of people sent home after spell in hospital may be recovering from accident, operation or illness. Or, more commonly, and this can be much more of problem, patient may be 'suffering' from no more than age. In any case, there's going to be upset in homestead. You may be given lot of help by district nurse or home help few hours week, but make no mistake, you may be in for rather rough time.

If condition which keeps patient in bedroom is likely to last for long time, it is worth going to lot of trouble to get them fixed up with bed downstairs. Of course, there are houses where this is impossible, but patient's first objection is usually lack of loo. In this case it is worth putting commode in room or adjoining room.
