The essence of the Organon mostly resides in the first 82 aphorisms, and when these correctly summarised we begin to a clearer overview of the entirety of Hahnemann’s medical thinking. This article attempts to precisely such a view. Initially, a summary of the Organon attempted, followed by a discussion of the main points it conveys.

Aphorism 1 states that mission of the physician is to heal gently and safely, to the patient in greater freedom: "to establish freedom the aim of the physician, and if a physician’s not result in placing his patient in freedom he heal the sick." [Kent, 1900, 79]
